Mazda Safety Features
Most automakers have their own suite of safety features, and Mazda is no different. i-ACTIVSENSE is the name of Mazda’s all-encompassing safety suite that boasts an enormous amount of both active and passive technology. Whether you’re on the highway or backing out of a space in the parking lot, i-ACTIVESENSE has you covered.
i-ACTIVESENSE includes a strong lineup of active safety technologies that help to prevent accidents from occurring in the first place. An adaptive front-lighting system points the headlights in the direction you’re steering. A High-Beam Control System switches between high and low beams automatically.

Mazda Radar Cruise Control automatically adjusts vehicle speed to maintain a safe distance from the car ahead. A Lane Departure Warning System keeps track of lane markings on the road and sounds an alarm to warn the driver if they drift out of their lane. Forward Obstruction Warning alerts the driver if there’s the risk of a collision.

That’s all fine, but what does Mazda have in the event of an accident?

Smart City Brake Support’s laser sensor keeps track of the car in front of you when driving at low speeds. If it detects a collision is imminent, it preps the brakes for maximum stopping power. If the driver doesn’t hit the brakes, the system will take control and apply the brakes as well as reduce engine power.

Acceleration Control for Automatic Transmission helps reduce the risk of an accident by avoiding sudden take-off if the gas pedal is pressed by mistake.
